Guest In-Groove Kitchen & Elle Cee Present’s Soulful Sunday Session’s w/Josh Emman

audio 1 Josh Emman will be on the tips of everyone’s lips come the end of 2014. This music maestro already complete with his own ‘signature’ production sound, is ripe and ready to reap the harvest of his hard work.
Influenced by his father’s early day’s in a reggae sound system and love of music, Emman also grew up around his uncle’s record collections from Motown, disco and jazz to blue beat/two-tone; rare groove eighties soul and electro. A heavy indoctrination in music came when he received his first keyboard at seven years old and spent many hours ‘growing up’ in recording studios watching and listening to his uncle along with the sound engineers perfecting hits that made the top ten charts of the day.
At the tender age of 16 Emman entered a prestigious DJ competition in the UK to play in the U.S. (he concealed his age) such was his ambition to be a DJ. He won and off he went to his first professional set in Seattle for Ballistic Minds in the rave scene. Keen to develop his hunger and love of studio life Emman left school and studied Music Technology and Sound Recording & Sampling in higher education.
A staple diet of house and dance music was the order of the day, as Emman was raised going to nights such as Hard Times and regularly frequented Hacienda, Sankeys, Canal club and Gas Club. By the time he was 18 he was playing guest appearances for a national radio station across the UK and by 1997, his ambition took him overseas again playing sets in Cyprus. Back on home turf he has played on various pirate radio stations whilst taking up a residency at Babalou (Brixton) and has played sets at Turnmills, MOS, Opera House (Bournemouth) and The End.
The self-taught sound engineer honed his skills amongst his peers in the studio – watching, learning and absorbing techniques. Fast-forward today and what you have is a producer-remixer-DJ with over two decades of skills and a crafted music style all of his own. His laid-back, soulful expression in his music reflects his mellow personality, while those sub-bass hooks display a cheekier mischievous side to his style. All in all what you are presented with is addictive, catchy arrangements bound to keep your feet stomping.
Self-motivated, determined and ready to break through, this producer-DJ, is all set for global domination and geared up to take over the world!
